Movie - Race 2

Cast - Saif Ali Khan as Ranvir, John Abraham as Armaan, Jaqueline Fernandez as Omisha, Deepika Padukone as Elena, Anil Kapoor as Robert de costa and Amisha Patel as Cherry.

One of my readers suggested that introducing all the characters in this movie at the start of the plot will confuse the reader. So I shall introduce them as they join in. This review is going to be as boring as the film itself so I don’t mind if you doze off in between coz that’s what happened to me during the movie.

Summary - Ranvir(Saif Ali Khan) returns in this sequel of race to take revenge of his dead gf (Bipasha Basu) ...On his noble quest he has to defeat Armaan (John Abraham) who is a former street fighter turned billionaire crime lord.

Ranvir starts gaining Armaan’s trust by doing some cheap robberies for him which are quite funny in principle. What he doesn’t know is that Armaan already knows who he is and why he is here. So Armaan tells his girlfriend Omisha (Jacqueline) to pose as Ranvirs dead gf's sister. Also there is Elena (Deepika Padukone), Armaans sister who falls for Ranvir. She has been introduced as a clever business woman (if anyone doesn’t accept her business deal, she just kills the guy. Very clever indeed..!!!)

Now to the main plot. Ranvir plans to steal the "Shroud of Turin"(a costly portrait) and tells Armaan to buy it for 15 billion and claims that they will be able to sell the same at a minimum price of 35 billion. But the real plan is to handover a fake piece to Armaan so that he will lose his money and the revenge would be complete. But the director doesn't want his viewers to be happy. So he introduces some pathetic twists and turns. In the middle of all Armaan tries to kill Elena (Deepika, I knew u would forget!!) For no reason this makes her realise how evil her bro is and so now she is on Ranvir's side and Omisha(Jacqueline…Duh...not your fault though) is pretending to be on Ranvirs side. This is already too much for the viewers but ‘picture abhi baaki hai’. The deal takes place in the middle of a desert. Armaan poisons Ranvir and runs with the art piece and the money. Now Armaan, Omisha, Elena (Deepika, if u still don't remember who is who) are on a plane. Here Armaan again tries to kill Elena but our mighty hero returns as it turns out he wasn’t really poisoned thanks to Elena (now viewers are cursing her for saving Ranvir) who switches the poison bottles. Armaan jumps from plane with money, Omisha and parachute leaving Elena and Ranvir on the crashing plane to die. This time you hope it’s finally over but it’s not! Our hero saves the girl as his car has 4 parachutes attached to it. (**%%&$@). And finally Armaan goes to the Godfather of Turkey underworld (who looks like an Indian) who has financed Armaan for this deal. As it turns out the Shroud of Turin is fake and so is the money. Well done Ranvir thank you for finally ending this pathetic charade.

And also there is detective Robert de costa (Anil Kapoor) and his assistant Cherry (Amisha patel) who keep switching teams with Armaan and Ranvir and try to amuse us with some poor jokes. If u still don’t believe that Amisha's career is over, watch this movie, it will convince you.

Thank you Abbas-Mastan for ruining 2.5 hours of my life which I will never get back.

Table no. 21: Movie Summary

Movie - Table no. 21.

Cast - Rajeev Khandelwal as Vivaan, Noideawhosheis as Sia, Paresh Rawal as Mr. Khan.

Summary - The movie starts with Vivaan and Sia in a flight going to Fiji. Both have luckily won a free tour package but couldn't have afforded the real tour. So the poor couple decide to make the most of it. They receive a grand welcome by the hotel manager Mr. Khan. Both have the time of their life in Fiji for the next 6 days. On the last day Mr. Khan offers them to play a game called table 21 through which they can win 10 million Fiji dollars i.e. 21 crore rupees. Mr. Khan explains the rules. 8 questions, 8 correct answers, 8 tasks. Lie detectors, cameras will be used to check the integrity of all answers. Cannot leave the game half way. Sia being a typical money crazy girl agrees immediately while Vivaan takes some time but agrees eventually. They are made to sign a contract and the game begins.

Question 1 - To Vivaan. Are you ashamed of kissing Sia in public? He answers yes and the lie detector signals green indicating he's telling the truth. Now their task is to kiss each other on the busiest street in Fiji. Sia is comfortable doing and convinces Vivaan. They do it and win a crore. They are thinking that this was a real easy way to win such a big amount! To convince them Mr. Khan shows the real money stacks.

Question 2 - To Sia. Does your husband know you completely? She answers no and it’s correct. Vivaan looks a bit sad. The task for her is to eat non veg. Vivaan says that she won't do it just for money but while he says it she has already started munching on the food thus proving that he doesn't actually know her.

 Question 3 - To Vivaan. Have you ever manipulated anyone? He says yes followed by a flashback showing how he steals Sia by manipulating her ex bf. The task is to manipulate Khan which he does easily with words.

 Question 4 - To Vivaan. Will you do anything to save your love? He answers yes correctly followed by a task in which he has to save her by giving few ml of his blood (Tasks are getting serious and creepy).

Question 5 - To Sia. Will Vivaan love you even if you give away your hair? She says yes. The task is to cut off her own hair. They try to quit and run away but soon learn that the lie detectors are actually explosives. They realise that this is not just a game but some trap from which they cannot escape. He has to cut her hair. She is now bald.

Matru ki Bijli ka Mandola: Movie Summary

Movie - Matru ki Bijli ka Mandola.

Cast - IMr.an khan as Matru, Pankaj Kapoor as Mandola, Anushka Sharma as Bijli, Shabana Azmi as Choudhary Mam.

Summary - Matru is Mandola's driver and also has the job of stopping Mandola from over drinking alcohol coz he loses control and does weird things whenever he is drunk. And whenever he tries to stop drinking he starts hallucinating and sees a pink cow which is also the logo of the beer called Gulabo which Mandola usually drinks. Mandola is a very rich person who owns a lot of property. Bijli is Mandola's daughter and Matru is taking care of her since her childhood (No points for guessing who will end up as a couple!). I have absolutely no clue as to what Bijli with her contemporary looks and attitude is doing in that village where all other girls actually look and live like village girls.

Mandola has a plan of buying land from all the farmers in the village and build factories and shopping malls in their place. So he and Choudhary Mam offer the villagers a price in return for their lands. Also the bank will take away the land if the villagers are unable to pay the loan in 3 months. The villagers say that they will have to take advice from a secret person named ‘Maao’ who helps the villagers by providing tips via notes hanging on trees but never reveals his identity to any of the villagers. The same night the villagers get a note from Maao saying there is no need to sell their land as this year monsoon was good and if it doesn't rain again they will have enough money to pay off their bank loans. The villagers take the advice and are also able to pay the first installment of the loan. Mandola and Choudhary Mam are furious. Choudhary Mam asks Mandola to pray sincerely to make it rain by making him promise that he will never drink again. He does and it rains! The crops are destroyed leaving the villagers with no option but to sell their lands to Mandola. Now Choudhary Mam is also interested in Mandola's property so she wants her son Baadal to marry Mandolas daughter Bijli. Matru is planning to leave the village as he feels that he failed in his task of saving the villagers but Bijli convinces him to stay. The two make a plan to stop this marriage. They paint cows pink and send them near Mandolas house where the marriage ceremony is taking place. They also keep many beer bottles in his house scattered and wait for Mandola to fall for the bait and get drunk. Soon Mandola is shown with a bottle in his hand and all drunk. He realises that all this was a mistake and stops the ceremony. Choudhary Mam is angry as Mandola is behaves like a drunk and ruins the ceremony. The marriage is over and Choudhary Mam is asked to leave. Later Mandola asks Matru to marry Bijli. But Matru refuses saying that Mandola is drunk now and will kill him for this in the morning as soon as he comes to his senses. Mandola then reveals that he wasn't drunk at all the whole time showing that the beer bottle is still sealed.

Everyone is happy. All dance to the song ‘Matru ki Bijli ka Mandola’. Even Choudhary Mam and her son come back with the police and all dance together! Confused! The movie ends! Planet sense must be wobbling around its axis right now!

Vishwaroopam: Movie Summary

Movie - Vishwaroopam.

Cast - Kamal khan as Mr. Vishwanathan a.k.a Viz, Noideawhosheis as Ms. Vishwanathan a.k.a Nirupama, Rahul Bose as Umar bhai.

Summary - Viz and Nirupama live in the USA and are married to each other but do not love each other. Nirupama has married him just for the green card (a common story these days). He is a classical dance teacher while she is a nuclear science doctor. Paradox!!! She is having an affair with her boss and just to avoid the guilt hires a private detective who will spy on Viz and try to find something to blame Viz. If Viz too is found having an affair she would also get some closure and won't feel the guilt. The detective is following Viz but comes across a terrorist warehouse and gets killed. The terrorist group leader, Umar bhai, orders his men to bring whoever hired the detective. His men bring Nirupama and Viz for interrogation who have no clue what’s happening and Viz is beaten up. Soon Umar sees Viz. He is shocked and orders his men to shoot him immediately. But Viz kills all his men while Nirupama is shocked seeing her classical dancer husband fighting like a hero.

This is followed by a flashback showing Umar bhai and Viz (with a different name) training in Afghanistan for a terrorist group. Viz is one of their best militants. But one day Americans locate their hiding place and destroy everything. Only Umar and couple of his men survive. It is revealed that Viz was helping the Americans and he is the one who discloses their location (end of flashback).

Umar bhai has a plan for revenge against the US. He sends pigeons with radiation tablets attached to their feet all over Usa. The plan is to confuse the bomb squads and then detonate a real nuclear bomb amidst the chaos. Now Viz knows about this plan. So he informs the FBI to ignore the pigeons. He also learns that Nirupama's boss had sold the bomb to a terrorist. They hack the company laptop and learn the money was transferred to a Nigerian. Along with the FBI, everyone reaches at the Nigerian’s residence and kill him. Nirupama states that the bomb has a mobile phone and will detonate when it gets a call from someone. Umar bhai is almost about to call on the bomb phone. Nirupama thinks and immediately covers the bomb with a radio box which acts as a Faraday shield and avoids signals to penetrate. Umar calls but gets ‘call unreachable’ message and is frustrated. He then tries calling the Nigerian who is actually dead by now. Viz takes the call and says that your Nigerian is dead. Umar bhai is double frustrated. The movie ends. Umar bhai is kept alive for a sequel.

Inkaar: Movie Summary

Movie - Inkaar

Cast - Arjun Rampal as Rahul, the CEO of KK ad agency, Chitrangada Singh as Maya, National creative director of the same agency.

Summary - The movie begins with a scenario showing that Maya has filed a sexual harassment case against Rahul, the CEO of KK ad agency. A social worker is in office for a meeting related to this case. The social worker decides to hear both sides of the story along with other colleagues from the ad agency. The entire movie revolves around how both the protagonists describe their versions of the story to the social worker and try to prove themselves innocent.

The outline of the story is Rahul is the CEO even when Maya is nothing. He hires her saying "she has the talent, just needs proper guidance and direction". They are an excellent team and later they have an affair followed by an argument after which Maya transfers to Delhi. 6 years later she goes to New York and when she returns is declared as the National creative director by the head of KK ad agency. A position which is just below the CEO. This is followed by the sexual harassment case. Both have their own versions of the story like Rahul says flirtation prevailed in their office since the beginning and Maya is having problems only after she got this new position. But Maya says he harassed her by his comments. Another part when Maya says that she loved him and that's why she came back to India. Rahul denies by saying that she came back engaged. She reverts back by saying that the guy followed her from New York and she never loved that guy. Rahul says Maya slept with some head in NY coz of which she got her position but she denies that by saying it’s her talent. Rahul says she has changed after getting the new position as she fires two nice employees but she again denies it by saying they were not good enough for the job.

In short, the real version is never revealed and keeps you confused throughout till the end. The first half shows Maya as a greedy person while the second half shows Rahul as greedy. In the end, the case goes nowhere, the social worker too is confused along with the audience. Rahul and Maya then meet each other, they fight, they cry, they hug, Rahul keeps asking her whether she slept with the NY head for her position while she keeps saying that he already knows the answer. Somehow they end up kissing. Next day everyone in office get a SMS from Rahul saying he has resigned and won't come back. They try calling Maya to give her the good news that she kind of won the case as he resigned. But her phone rings in a nearby dustbin implying that she too has resigned. Weird ways to resign!!! Alas! The movie ends. Don't take this as an educational movie which will tell you about the thin line between flirtation and harassment. Whatever is shown as acceptable behavior in the movie will surely get you sued at your workplace. The best part was probably the interval. So if someone asks you to come for the movie, please Inkaar the offer!

Fatso: Movie Summary

Movie - Fatso 5 characters - Nandini, Tanuja, fat Sudeep, Naveen, Yash.

Story starts with Naveen proposing Nandini. So now there is one couple in the group. Tanuja expects Yash to propose. Eventually he does. Now there are two couples and a fat Sudeep. Naveen asks Nandini for marriage. Both very happy. Few days later the 3 guys meet with a car accident. Naveen dies in the accident. Naveen is in some place between heaven and earth which is kind of like a passport office. There its revealed that there was some mistake and instead of Naveen, fat Sudeep was supposed to die ! Before the passport office ppl could revert things back, Naveens body is cremated i.e burned. Passport office people say he can go back in fat Sudeep's body. Naveen denies. To make up for things, passport office guy takes Naveen to earth for 5 min. Naveen sees that his friend Yash is planning to break up with Tanuja and propose Nandini ... Bad friend ! So Naveen now changes his mind and decides to go back via sudeeps body. On earth fat sudeep starts feeling breathless and dies in his room. Sudeep (who is now Naveen ), Yash and Nandini are watching a movie. Yash and Nandini are getting closer to each other. Sudeep can't watch. He calls Tanuja. She gets angry and plans to suicide. No one can convince her but finally Sudeep does. Seeing sudeep convince her, Nandini is slightly impressed. At a party the fat Sudeep performs some nice dance moves. Nandini is impressed again and asks him how he has changed so much and kisses him. Ideally now Sudeep ( Naveen from within ) should be happy, but he realises that she kissed Sudeep and not him. But after a drink or two, instead of realising Nandini is sleeping her way through the entire group, he realises that he shouldn't let her go again ! Everyone is together and happy. Sudeep is telling how he loves everything in this world, the flowers, trees, water, sounds. He talks continuously like "I love walking, I love sleeping, I love crying, I love breathing". Meanwhile in the kitchen a spoon falls in the frying oil and more such weird things happen and music changes to spooky indicating that something bad is going to happen. Sudeep is now continuously talking for 5 min and starts feeling breathless. He still continues like "I love your face, I love your eyes, I love your teeth, I love the cavities in your teeth..." and with almost no breath left he stops and both Nandini and Sudeep kiss each other.
